Applications are now open for a therapy residency or fellowship at Brooks Rehabilitation through our Institute of Higher Learning (IHL). Gain valuable experience from our highly knowledgeable faculty and clinicians while gaining access to a diverse patient population in a variety of care settings.

Enrollees in a Brooks IHL residency or fellowship can expect the following:
150+ hours of 1:1 onsite clinical mentoring (250 hours for sports) for residents
200 hours of 1:1 onsite clinical mentoring for fellows
Full salary and benefits with Brooks Rehabilitation
Scholarly advisors include faculty from the University of Florida, University of North Florida, University of Central Florida & Jacksonville University
The Brooks Institute of Higher Learning offers a total of eight onsite residencies. Through mentoring, classwork, psychomotor labs, and other unique learning experiences, our nursing and physical therapy programs will advance your skills in areas of clinical competence, scholarship, education, professionalism, and patient management.
Residents are offered full salary and benefits with Brooks Rehabilitation, which allows them to work side by side with experts in all areas of rehabilitation medicine.
Physical therapy residencies are accredited by the ABPTRFE.

As part of a world-class organization on the cutting edge of evidence-informed practice and professional development, the Brooks IHL fellowship programs prepare clinicians to be leaders in their specialty field of practice.
All therapists completing a fellowship program will receive full benefits and salary from Brooks Rehabilitation. In addition to the mentoring and training you will receive from your fellowship program, you will gain tremendous knowledge and skill by being immersed with industry experts in the field of rehabilitation medicine.
In collaboration with the University of North Florida, Brooks IHL offers an ABPTRFE- and ACOMPTE-credentialed Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT). The program provides an eclectic, evidence-based educational experience for individuals interested in attaining highly specialized skills in the practice area of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
Brooks is proud to provide an opportunity for clinical fellows to gain experience working with multiple diagnoses, including spinal cord injury, brain injury and stroke. The Clinical Fellowship Program allows participants to work in one of three settings: inpatient rehabilitation, acute care and skilled nursing.
Our AOTA-approved Neurologic Fellowship Program starts in July and runs for one year. Fellows-in-training rotate through various neurologic care settings within the Brooks Rehabilitation System of Care, including inpatient brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury programs, skilled nursing settings, as well as Brooks’ Neuro Recovery Center.
