Dr. Sandra Brown is an Associate Professor at Jacksonville University. She has been an occupational therapist since 1998. Dr. Brown has specialized in pediatrics, however, has worked in a variety of settings including home based, schools, residential facilities, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Brown is Board Certified in Pediatrics (BCP) through the American Occupational Therapy Association and is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program and the Co-Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Jacksonville University. She utilizes multiple modalities within the classroom to immerse and engage her students in an active and dynamic learning environment, promoting skills necessary for a career in healthcare. Courses she teaches include Anatomy, Evaluations and Occupational Performance, Pediatrics, and Research. Dr. Brown is a frequent invited speaker at conferences, academic institutions, and community events. She was the recipient of Jacksonville University’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2022 and also received the inaugural Anatomage Outstanding Teaching Award Graduate/Professional Division in 2023 for her innovation in teaching anatomy.
