Bio:

Dr. Bishop is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida. He received his professional training in Australia and worked in Australia and Canada before moving to the United States. He currently teaches in the entry-level and post-professional physical therapy programs at the University of Florida, as well as the post-professional research program. Dr Bishop’s primary research focus is the management of musculoskeletal pain and his research is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Mark Bishop has a primary clinical interest in the management of patients with musculoskeletal pain conditions using manual therapy and exercise.

Academic & Professional Activities:

Dr. Bishop is an Associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Florida. He teaches anatomy in the professional and post-professional residency programs at the University of Florida and supervises the training of three PhD students. Dr Bishop is part of a vibrant pain research community at UF and studies factors that lead to the development and maintenance of musculoskeletal pain, as well as the management of pain by manual therapy. He has had his work funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Florida Department of Heath, as well as by foundations such as the Brooks Endowment and the Ida Mae Foundation.
