Course Title: 2025 Mastering Voice Disorders: Clinical Strategies for Success

Course Description: 
“Mastering Voice Disorders: Clinical Strategies for Success” is a 2-day comprehensive, hands-on course designed for speech-language pathologists seeking to enhance their expertise in assessing and treating voice disorders. Participants will gain proficiency in conducting comprehensive clinical voice evaluations, integrating perceptual, acoustic, and aerodynamic measures, and synthesizing medical and patient-reported data to guide clinical decision-making. The course will also explore how to incorporate principles of neuroplasticity and wound healing into management of voice disorders. Participants will gain hands-on experience with evidence-based voice therapy techniques, explore practical tools for clinical practice, and develop individualized treatment plans for complex voice cases. With a focus on an integrative clinical approach, treatment planning, and case-based learning, this course equips clinicians with the tools and strategies needed to conduct thorough and effective voice evaluations and treatments.

Course Objectives: 

  1. Apply key components of a comprehensive voice evaluation, including patient-reported outcome measures, perceptual analysis, and instrumental assessments, and hands-on clinical assessment techniques.
  2. Demonstrate a variety of evidence-based voice therapy techniques through hands-on practice.
  3. Formulate effective individualized treatment plans based on patient-specific needs, best practice guidelines, principles of neuroplasticity, principles of wound healing, and clinical findings.
  4. Integrate knowledge gained through clinician-submitted case study discussions to real-world clinical scenarios.
