Bio:

Dr. Walczak is the Rehabilitation Manager for the Inpatient Spinal Cord, Inpatient Pediatrics, and Pediatric Day ProgramHe oversees the Brooks continuum for medically complex pediatric patients from acute care to traditional outpatient servicesHe is passionate about education and leadership and how that can elevate patient care and access to services. 

Education & Training:
  • – Marquette University, – Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2015, Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017 
  • – Graduated from the Brooks IHL Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program in 2018, and became a Board-Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy in 2019 
Areas of Interest:

Pediatrics, TBI, SCI, Adults with Developmental Disabilities, Pain Management, Change management 

Academic & Professional Activities:
  • – Responsible for local children hospital partnerships in order to foster community collaboration for children after catastrophic injury. 
  • – Dr. Walczak currently serves as a member of the methodology subgroup in the guideline development group for the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy’s developing Clinical Practice Guideline for Acute/Subacute Locomotor Recovery Following Neurologic Injury. 
  • – Instructor for multiple CEU courses presented both as part of IHL weekend CEU series and to external clinical sites.
